Michael Bauernfeind was a known transient in Flagler County who would sometimes stop by a family member's home on Hernandez Avenue in Palm Coast. His family last saw him in January 2019; FCSO's case card lists January 24, 2019.

The last contact law enforcement had with him was on February 12, 2019. The Charley Project reports that a deputy saw him that night around 10:30 p.m. near Palm Coast Parkway and Belle Terre Parkway. A family member reported him missing on June 24, 2019.
